Ramadoss bats for reservation for Tamils in jobs

CHENNAI: PMK chief S Ramadoss has urged the Tamil Nadu government to consider introducing legislation for 100% reservation in private sector jobs for Tamils.
In a statement on October 3, Ramadoss urged the state government to discuss the issue with political parties and legal experts.
TOI had reported on October 2 that Karnataka is mulling bringing a legal framework to protect the 100% reservation policy for Kannadigas in private sector blue-collar jobs.
Earlier this month, the law department vetoed 100% reservation for C and D group (blue-collar) employees in the private sector, and the issue is now with the advocate general for consideration.
According to the initial plans, the proposed law will provide reservation for all those who have studied Kannada as a subject from Class 1 to 10. It is also considering that a domicile certificate of 15 years, stating that the person is a resident of Karnataka, along with a working knowledge of Kannada can also be considered eligible for employment under the law.
In his statement, Ramadoss said many private agencies in the state employ people from other states, adding that those in high posts in certain firms try to bring in people from their states for C and D category jobs.
